Hi-Lo Guide, Albert Kutzkey

For those of you who are new to Hi-Lo, let me take a minute to introduce you to one of our guides, Albert.

Albert is a third generation guide who has been fishing the waters of Alaska, Oregon, and California for over thirty years. His grandfather, Al Kutzkey, was one of the first guides in California and is in the fishing hall of fame. His father Tim Kutzkey, developed some of the fishing techniques that are still used today. Like his grandfather and father, Albert sets the standard on the rivers he fishes. albert2

In the winter he sets his sights on the salmon, steelhead, and trout of the Klamath, Smith, and Chetco Rivers. And in the summer, just like the salmon, he returns to the Kenai River. This year we are excited to welcome him back a month early. Albert will be here in June to fish the first run of salmon. albert1

Albert is a dominating force on the Kenai. If there are fish in the water, he will catch them. Besides his skill as a guide, he is a genuinely nice guy, and it is always a pleasure to spend a day fishing with him.
